Schools in the AEFE network are institutions accredited by the French Ministry of National Education. They follow the official French curriculum while integrating an international dimension and a multicultural environment.

  • Education in accordance with the French curriculum.
  • A multicultural environment promoting international openness.
  • The possibility of continuing schooling in other schools within the network.
  • Official recognition facilitating access to universities in France and abroad.

The LFI is accredited from the Petite Section (first year of nursery school) to 3ème (ninth grade). The 2nde (tenth grade) is currently in the process of accreditation.

All French establishments abroad promote French language and culture from a European and international perspective. Plurilingualism and cultural plurality characterize the entire network, rich in a diverse and high-quality language offering. The main language of instruction is French, and the school offers language pathways that allow for the early learning of two other languages, English and Khmer. In Cycle 4 (middle school), optional Spanish is offered to complete the language panel. Throughout their schooling, students have language classes (English, Khmer, Spanish) that prepare them for international careers.

This depends on the entry level:

  • In nursery and primary school, language adaptation is often offered.
  • In secondary school, a certain level of French may be required.

Students can take:

  • The Diplôme National du Brevet (DNB) at the end of 3ème (ninth grade).

  • Pay the first registration or re-registration fees.

The LFI remains one of the least expensive establishments in the Asia zone. Tuition fees include: Schooling, teaching materials and school supplies, medical check-up for students in GS (final year of nursery school) and CM2 (fifth grade), Complementary Educational Activities (APC) for students in nursery and elementary school, the “Homework Help” program for students in Cycle 4 (middle school), borrowing books from the library and some school outings. For more details, see “financial regulations”.

Scholarships are granted subject to resources and depending on the applicant’s financial situation. Scholarship students must: Be of French nationality and reside in the consular district The applicant and the child must be registered with the consulate (check that your registration and that of your child is valid) The child must be at least 3 years old in the calendar year of the school year The child must be enrolled in our establishment For more information, visit the website of the French Embassy in Cambodia: https://kh.ambafrance.org/1ere-campagne-de-bourses-scolaires-2025-2026

Yes, the AEFE network allows for easy school mobility between its establishments around the world.

The LFI makes every effort to offer rich and varied extracurricular activities so that students can, after class, stay at school and practice educational activities.

Teachers consult together to make the right decisions, and in secondary school, the main teacher assists students in their choices.

When your child is enrolled in a French school accredited by the French Ministry of National Education (AEFE network), they can be enrolled in any school in the AEFE network and will be automatically reintegrated into a public or private school under contract in France.

This question is incomplete, but it likely refers to how the LFI curriculum compares to other educational systems (e.g., the International Baccalaureate, the British system, or the American system). This information would likely be available on the school’s website or by contacting the school directly.
